18 days and counting...
In less than 3 weeks I will be on my way to Vietnam. Wow! Early monday morning, July 21, I fly out to California for a few days of training and orientation. We then leave on the 24th for Hanoi, Vietnam where we will be undergoing training and taking grad classes for one month. Hanoi is where I spent last summer teaching English, so I am hoping to meet up with some of my friends/students while I am there. =) At the end of August, my team of 4 girls will be headed down to Dalat, Vietnam where we will be teaching at the university there. Dalat is located much further south than Hanoi, closer to Ho Chi Minh city (where Anita is right now!). It is also not so hot there =) as it is in the mountains and also somewhat near the coast I believe. I'm sure I'll be able to give many more details about it once I'm there, but I have heard it's beautiful =D. So if any of you are looking for a great vacation spot sometime this year, you are welcome to come visit anytime! hehe
So, right now I am home in Minnesota doing homework and preparing to leave soon. It was really great to spend the previous 5 weeks in Wheaton meeting up with people and spending time with friends before heading out for the next year! Thanks to all of you who spent time with me and who will still spend time with me here in Minnesota! Because as I'm sure you know, I'll be missing you ;P
Okie, I hope you all enjoy this blog thing. I've never done one of these before but I'll try to keep it updated with news, pictures, and requests. If you comment or e-mail me or anything, please remember to be careful of the words that you use. Thanks!
Requests
- That I will trust the Father completely as I go to Vietnam and that I learn to depend on Him completely, knowing that He will give me the strength I need
- That He will begin to prepare the hearts of the students and Vietnamese people my teammates and I will be meeting and befriending
- For my teammates and for our team dynamics =)
- Finances for the year- that funding will come in and that I will trust Him to provide. (Right now I still need around $8,000)
- That I will be able to say goodbye to people here well (I mean, see you later! ;P)
